Our take
Golden Gate Canyon State Park is a mountain park about 30 miles west of Denver with 152 primitive and electric campsites split mainly between the Reverend's Ridge and Aspen Meadows campgrounds, plus cabins and yurts. There are 35 miles of trails and fishing at Kriley Pond. Good for campers who want a forested, higher elevation setting without a long drive from the Front Range.
